DEFINING CAREER MOMENT:
At 18 I moved to Germany on my own. I was responsible for all my decisions and mistakes from that moment on.

FIRST JOB: As a little girl I gave piano lessons to younger girls in the neighborhood. I also helped my dad in his dental practice. The rate was a bowl of chocolate ice cream at the end of the day at the café next door.

HOW/WHY CHOSE FIELD: I wanted to be an architect. My mom wanted me to follow in my dad’s footsteps and be an oral surgeon. I applied to 19 schools of Architecture and one Dental school. The rest is history.

I WISH I HAD KNOWN YEARS AGO: It’s okay to accept help for everyday chores; you don’t have to be superwoman.

LIFE LESSON: Wherever you live, make it your home.

MENTOR: My mom, because she always told me I can be whatever I want to be with no limits, not even geography.

MOST PROUD OF: My sons, because they are wonderful young individuals with their own spirit who teach me new things every day. My husband, because he always pushes us both to be better in whatever we do.
