BEST ADVICE RECEIVED:
To whom much is given, much is required. I’d been hearing it since the 6th grade, but it didn’t resonate until I was older.

ADVICE TO PASS ON: There’s always more than one path to success. Explore whichever one it takes, making sure you are in integrity with what you believe at the end of day. Education, education, education!

FIRST JOB: McDonald’s cashier. I wasn’t grill material, but with my bubbly smile, I was cashier material.

HOW/WHY CHOSE FIELD: My goal was to never be unemployed and to have more than one avenue to success. I always had good business acumen and the people side worked well for me, so I migrated to HR.

LIFE LESSON: People feel the need to have a storybook life; don’t be embarrassed by your story.

MENTOR: My grandmother, who instilled every bit of self-esteem that I have.

MOST PROUD OF: Starting from nothing and ending up where I am today; I didn’t have a silver spoon.

MOTIVATOR: The challenge to do the right thing in complex situations.
